Types of Call (and Entitlements)

Proximate Call

Availability to be on duty within 10 minutes of being called.
Paid at: 10% of Level 4 – Reg 1 hourly pay rate for each hour on call.

Remote Call

Availability to be on duty within 30 minutes of being called.
Paid at: 7% of Level 4 – Reg 1 hourly pay rate for each hour on call.

Standby Call

The Resident Medical Officer placed on call will be contactable at a mutually agreeable location and available for a return to duty in a reasonable negotiated time.
Paid at: 10% of the 4th Year Registrar weekly rate (Reg 4) for each 24 hours period Monday to Saturday inclusive and 15% of the 4th Year Registrar weekly rate (Reg 4) for each 24 hour period on Sunday.

* Only Standby Call entitles the medical officer to a call room while on duty.
